Solidarity Against Racism and Injustice – A Message from Console Mattiacci Law

Posted on Jul 21, 2020 by Brittany Carter

To our community:

Black. Lives. Matter.

George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Laquan McDonald, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland, Tamir Rice, Freddie Gray, Stephen Clark, Walter Scott, Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, Botham Jean, Trayvon Martin, Amadou Diallo, and far too many others.

These terrifying and senseless killings highlight the institutional racism that exists in our country. They are a vivid reminder of the fact that race plays a role in decisions made by powerful people every day, not just limited to the decision of whether or not to kneel on a Black man’s neck for over eight minutes, but abuses of power in the workplace and in every other aspect of society. The courageous, peaceful protests and activism recently witnessed across the country have amplified the centuries-long cries for change, fairness, and progress. The White House response to these efforts has been appalling and disgraceful – ranging from attacks on peaceful protesters to claiming that the phrase Black Lives Matter is a symbol of hate.

We share the heartbreak and outrage felt by all of those who strive to eradicate racial discrimination from this country. We commend the victims of race discrimination who possess the bravery to stand up for their civil rights and the rights of other people of color across the country, often doing so against some of the most powerful institutions and companies in the world.

Console Mattiacci Law is an employment rights firm with a 30-year history of passionately and proudly fighting for the rights of Black employees. We stand with the Black community. We stand against systemic racism and recommit ourselves to dismantling racial discrimination in the workplace one case at a time.
