Console Mattiacci Law, LLC Represents Worker in Age Discrimination Case Against Teradata Corporation

PHILADELPHIA — A Chester Springs man is suing an Ohio data company, alleging his termination was unlawful and in violation of age discrimination regulations.

Peter Hughes of Chester Springs filed a lawsuit Feb. 10 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Teradata Corporation and Teradata Operations Inc. of Dayton, Ohio, alleging age discrimination.

According to the complaint, Hughes was employed as a marketing strategist in May 2000 and was promoted in 2003. The suit states he was an excellent employee but in 2014, Teradata acted to reduce the age of the workforce, offering incentives to those older than 60 who voluntarily left.

On May 29, 2014, the lawsuit states, David Grant, Hughes’ supervisor, informed the plaintiff of his upcoming termination, and subsequently terminated all employees older than 40. Between May and June 2014, the plaintiff applied for multiple positions but was denied, even though the suit says that he was qualified.

Hughes seeks damages for violation of ADEA, back and front pay, compensatory damages, court costs and attorney fees. He is represented by attorneys Stephen G. Console and Lane J. Schiff of Console Mattiacci Law, LLC LLC in Philadelphia.
